Palestinian Islamic Jihad Identifies Three More Teenagers Among War Casualties

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has identified three more teenagers as members of its armed wing in a Friday release of posters commemorating those it describes as “martyrs” of the October 7 war.
The three teenagers were 16-year-old Abdul Fattah Atef Fanana, 16-year-old Samih Firas Al-Dahdar, and 17-year-old Matar Zakaria Al-Batsh. Fanana was identified as a member of the Gaza Brigade’s Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj Battalion, while Al-Dahdar and Al-Batsh were listed as members of the same Al-Quds Brigade unit.
According to HonestReporting, the identities and ages were verified by cross-referencing casualty information published by the Hamas-run Health Ministry with PIJ’s posters and social media accounts belonging to the teenagers and their families.
The three cases add to 23 other minors previously identified by HonestReporting as having been involved with armed groups during the conflict. According to the organization, the latest cases bring the total number of confirmed minors associated with Hamas, PIJ and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) to 26.
