An Afghan migrant allegedly threatened to shoot Nigel Farage in a TikTok video, making a gun gesture and saying "pop, pop" before crossing the Channel, a court has been told.
Fayaz Khan, 26, was apprehended shortly after arriving in the UK from France on a small boat in October. He has been charged with making threats to kill and sending a menacing communication.
Khan appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court for the first time today, wearing a grey prison tracksuit. He confirmed his name through a Dari interpreter and did not enter a plea.
The migrant, who has a distinctive Kalashnikov tattoo on his face, is accused of filming himself threatening to kill Reform Party MP Nigel Farage last year.
Prosecutor David Burns explained that Khan, who goes by the online alias Mada Pas, made a gun gesture and uttered "pop, pop" in the video.
It’s alleged Khan recorded the video as part of a series documenting his journey to the UK. In additional clips, he is said to have threatened the high-profile politician and expressed a desire to marry his sister.
David Burns, prosecuting, stated: "He posted videos detailing how he intended to enter the UK illegally, and these were passed on to Mr Farage, who subsequently reposted them. This caught Khan's attention, prompting him to upload a follow-up video where he confirmed his plans to come to England, claiming he would confront Mr Farage to stop him from talking about him."
In the video, Khan is said to have added: "English man Nigel. Don’t talk s*** about me. You don’t know me. I’m coming to England because I want to marry your sister. Don’t talk about me anymore. Delete the video. It’s not good, my friend, you don’t know me. I’m coming to England…”
The court also heard that Khan shared additional videos, one of which had a caption stating, "I mean what I say."
