A violent incident unfolded at a busy railway hub in Germany when a 35-year-old Afghan man allegedly attacked several individuals stationed at a Jehovah’s Witness information stand. The confrontation occurred inside the entrance hall of Würzburg Central Station at approximately 7:50 a.m., according to police reports.

Authorities said the suspect approached the religious stand and attempted to stab a 68-year-old man before turning on two others, aged 55 and 51, whom he physically assaulted. The situation could have escalated further, but bystanders intervened quickly. Several civilians courageously stepped in, restraining the attacker and assisting the victims until law enforcement and emergency responders arrived.

Police confirmed that three people sustained minor injuries during the assault. Fortunately, none of the victims suffered stab wounds or serious cuts, and all received prompt medical care from emergency services at the scene.

Investigators are treating the case as an attempted homicide and have taken the suspect into custody. Authorities are also examining statements, exclamations, and gestures reportedly made by the man during the attack to determine possible motives.

The regional police authority, Polizei Unterfranken, stated after the arrest that there is currently no ongoing threat to public safety. Würzburg is located in the Bavarian region of central Germany, east of Frankfurt, and officials emphasized that the situation is now fully under control while investigations continue.
