Assam initiates the MODI program to enhance efforts in promoting cleanliness across districts

The Assam government is set to introduce the MODI scheme, which stands for the 'Most Outstanding District Initiative,' allocating Rs 100 crore to recognize the cleanest district. The state cabinet has approved this policy, wherein districts will undergo evaluation based on 108 criteria to earn the designation of being the cleanest.

Following the delimitation of assembly and parliamentary constituencies in Assam, the government has opted to establish four new districts and 81 sub-districts. The cleanest district will receive Rs 100 crore through the MODI initiative.
