Three men who had been stranded while awaiting help for a rental car breakdown were allegedly stalked from afar before being fatally shot by a man described by the victims’ families as a “frequent flyer” within Florida’s criminal justice system.

In a joint statement shared with Fox News Digital, the families said the victims had traveled to Central Florida to attend the Mecum Car Show—the world’s largest collector car auction—and were staying at a nearby Airbnb. According to the statement, the suspect reportedly observed the men from a distance before approaching and opening fire.

“There were no known interactions between the men and this individual prior to the incident,” the families stated. “They were suddenly confronted and senselessly murdered. This was a random and deeply tragic act.”

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at approximately 12:14 p.m. Saturday in the Indian Point subdivision. Deputies arriving at the scene found three men lying outside a residence, each suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

Authorities later identified the victims as Robert Luis Kraft, 70, of Holland, Michigan; his brother Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, of Columbus, Ohio; and James John Puchan, 69, also of Columbus.

Family members explained that the men had been preparing to return home that day but were forced to extend their stay after experiencing issues with their rental vehicle. While standing outside the Airbnb waiting for a replacement car to arrive, they were suddenly targeted in what relatives described as an unprovoked and random attack.

Investigators identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, a resident of the home next door to the rental property.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bojeh was seen fleeing back to his residence shortly after the shooting. He was later taken into custody, and deputies recovered two firearms at the scene. Bojeh has since been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Law enforcement records reveal that Bojeh had numerous prior encounters with the criminal justice system before Saturday’s deadly incident. In 2021, he was charged with attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and aggravated battery after allegedly firing shots at an individual and at random vehicles in a Kissimmee gas station parking lot. Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital indicate he was ultimately found not guilty by reason of insanity in that case.

Additional records show Bojeh had previously been arrested on felony drug possession charges and for misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence, underscoring a pattern of repeated interactions with law enforcement in the years leading up to the shooting.
