France: Father and daughter assaulted and robbed by a couple in Islamic attire after criticizing her skirt for being ‘too short’

It was supposed to be a perfect summer Sunday for a father and his daughter. Instead, it turned into five minutes of unrelenting violence—bestial, savage, and completely unprovoked. On the afternoon of Sunday, July 27, 2025, in the quiet town of Meulan-en-Yvelines, a 58-year-old father and his 28-year-old daughter found themselves trapped in a nightmare at Thun-le-Paradis station.

Earlier that day, everything had been joyful. The daughter, a devoted K-pop fan, had convinced her father to accompany her to the Stade de France to see a famous South Korean group perform. She had dressed for the occasion, wearing a carefully chosen outfit—something bright, fashionable, and in keeping with the expressive spirit of the K-pop scene. It was her day, and her father was happy to share in it.

An Ordinary Wait Turns Ugly

At around 1:41 p.m., the pair were sitting together on a bench, waiting for their train, chatting and basking in the afterglow of their concert experience. Across the platform stood a man and a woman. Without warning, the man’s voice rang out with venom: “Dirty whore!” The insult was clearly aimed at the young woman—perhaps because of her dress, which he seemed to deem “too short.” In reality, she was simply exercising her right to dress as she wished.

The situation escalated shockingly fast. Surveillance footage later reviewed by reporters shows the man crossing via the pedestrian walkway, his demeanor aggressive and filled with rage. Without any verbal exchange, he launched a kick directly at the father. Then, striking again, he targeted his head. As the father tried desperately to shield his daughter, the attacker rained blows on them both. They fell to the ground, but the violence did not stop.

A Second Assailant Joins the Attack

Within moments, the man’s partner arrived on the scene, riding an electric scooter, her long black djellaba billowing as she moved. A red shoulder bag swung at her side. Without hesitation, she joined in, directing her aggression toward the young woman, while the man continued to pummel the father. At one point, he seized an aerosol can and used it as a weapon, striking the older man in the head six times, then following with a series of savage kicks.

Whenever the young woman tried to rise, a barrage of blows forced her back down. The violence continued unabated, even as a passerby arrived and a small child—no more than four or five years old—looked on. The brutality seemed immune to shame or fear of consequence.

Extortion Attempt and Chilling Threats

In the midst of the assault, the attacker’s anger turned to greed. Having broken his glasses during the attack, he grabbed the father and daughter, attempting to drag them to a cash machine to withdraw €140 as “compensation.” When they refused, the man delivered a vicious uppercut to the daughter’s face, striking with such force that her head snapped back and she collapsed—once, then again.

Before leaving, he delivered a parting threat that froze them in fear: “If I don’t kill you, I will kill your father.”

The Following Day: Fear Returns

The nightmare didn’t end there. The next day, the attacker spotted the father in the street. He followed him, prompting the terrified man to rush home and lock the doors. This time, there was no physical confrontation, but the emotional damage was lasting. According to his lawyer, the father is now consumed with shame for not having been able to protect his daughter. He suffers anxiety attacks, sleepless nights, and has withdrawn entirely from public life.

Courtroom Appearance

Police arrested the couple, who were brought before the Versailles court on Friday, August 1. They arrived in tears, offering apologies that felt hollow compared to the more than thirty blows they had dealt on that station platform. The court, however, postponed judgment, ordering psychiatric evaluations for both the defendants and the victims.

The daughter appeared in court visibly shaken—her body trembling, leaning on a walking stick, a large blue scarf wrapped around her neck. Her eyes were red from crying, her voice barely audible. The trauma was clear.

Who Are the Attackers?

The male defendant, 25, is unemployed. The female, 24, works in a local dry-cleaning shop. They have been in a relationship for eight years, have no children, and both have small criminal records. The man has already been convicted once before for violent acts that caused permanent injury.

For now, the prosecution must decide on interim measures. The apologies, the tears—none of it erases the raw brutality of that July afternoon, nor the scars, visible and invisible, left on a father and his daughter.
