A man appeared at the Reims police headquarters in Marne on Monday at approximately 1 p.m. and brandished multiple knives, shouting "Allah Akbar," as reported by Actu17. He was subdued with an electric pulse gun (PIE) and subsequently apprehended, with no injuries reported.
According to various sources, the suspect, already known to the authorities, was taken into custody. His vehicle, which was parked nearby, underwent a bomb squad inspection and no hazardous item was found.

The SGP Police FO East Zone Unit union has condemned the "abhorrent attempted attack" and extended support to the officers at the Reims police station. "We acknowledge our colleagues and commend them for apprehending this individual," responded Éric Henry, national delegate of the Alliance Police Nationale union. "Thankfully, they swiftly brought him under control, preventing a potential fatality.
This underscores the necessity of equipping the police with intermediate weapons. It reaffirms that the police are consistently targeted due to their representation of the State and, by extension, the Republic." An investigation has been initiated to shed light on the motives and background of the perpetrator.
