Greek leftist politician Yanis Varoufakis praised Arundhati Roy and said that she is the world's finest author on 11th October, after a day Lieutenant Governor issued prosecution sanction against Arundhati Roy. Significantly, on October 10th, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, approved the request for legal action against 'activist' Arundhati Roy and former Kashmiri professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain in connection with the 2010 case involving inflammatory speeches, as confirmed by officials at Raj Niwas (the Governor's House).
They further stated that the First Information Report (FIR) against Roy and Hussain was filed following the directives of the New Delhi Court of Metropolitan Magistrate on November 27, 2010. Notably, Yanis Varoufakis, a prominent figure in Greek left-wing politics, held the position of Finance Minister from January to July 2015. In 2016, he co-established Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25), a pan-European leftist political organization.

Since 2018, he has assumed the role of Secretary-General for DiEM25. When discussing the recent Hamas terrorist incident in Israel on Saturday, the former Greek Finance Minister, Yanis Varoufakis, emphatically declared that he and his party would not denounce the attack by Hamas on Israel. By equating the Hamas terrorist attack with rebellion, he justified the killing of innocent civilians by arguing that rebellion often leads to the loss of innocent lives.
At the same time, the Israel-Hamas conflict has reached its fifth day, with Israel claiming to have regained control of its border towns previously held by Hamas militants. According to reports from The Times of Israel, the death toll resulting from both Hamas attacks and the ground invasion has now exceeded 1,200. In response, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has launched extensive airstrikes in Gaza, targeting around 150 locations overnight. Among the targets were reported to be the residences of Hamas commanders' fathers. Additionally, Israeli forces have eliminated 18 infiltrating gunmen in the past 24 hours.
