On Saturday, the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) successfully neutralized Ali Qadi, the leader of the "Nukhba Force," responsible for the Hamas attack on October 7 that resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,300 Israelis. IDF aircraft, under the guidance of Shin Bet and AMAN (Military Intelligence Directorate), targeted these terrorists.

In 2005, Qadi was arrested for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Israelis and was later released as part of the Gilad Shalit exchange deal. The operation also resulted in the elimination of numerous Hamas terrorists, many of whom were affiliated with Qadi's Nukhba Force. Furthermore, the IDF reported the assassination of Merad Abu Merad, the head of the Hamas aerial system, who played a significant role in directing terrorists during the aforementioned attack.
The hope is that Israel can completely dismantle Hamas to prevent further hostage exchanges and potential future attacks. Israel had previously released over a thousand terrorists in exchange for Gilad Shalit, a deal that cost more than a thousand lives. The argument is that it would have been more effective to deal with Hamas comprehensively at that time and is now imperative to eliminate Hamas rather than release more terrorists and risk future atrocities.
