In a disturbing incident reported from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Mohammad Naseemuddin has been taken into custody after being accused of deceiving a Hindu widow by concealing his true identity, marrying her under false pretenses, and subsequently coercing her and her children into converting to Islam.

According to multiple media sources, the woman, whose late husband was a hotel owner, first encountered Naseemuddin nearly a decade ago. At the time, he introduced himself as “Ravi” and began making regular visits to the hotel she managed. Over time, he built a relationship of trust with her, portraying himself as a well-meaning and supportive figure.

Eventually, Naseemuddin allegedly persuaded the woman to marry him through a court procedure. However, it was only two months after the marriage that he reportedly disclosed his real identity and compelled her to participate in a nikah ceremony, formalizing their union under Islamic law.

The situation worsened as the woman claims that Naseemuddin took ₹8 lakh from her, claiming the funds would be used to construct a house for their family. Alongside financial exploitation, he is also accused of forcing a religious conversion upon her children. Her daughters, originally named Shivani and Himani, were renamed Saniya and Sadmani. Similarly, her sons, Karan and Arjun, were given new names—Faizan and Armaan—following their alleged conversion to Islam.

This case has sparked outrage and concern over issues of identity fraud, coercion, and religious conversion, and has reignited debates around laws concerning forced conversion and interfaith marriages in India. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and further legal action is expected as more details emerge.
