Iran: Baha’i man sentenced to 11 years and assets seized for “anti-regime propaganda” through music classes

A source informed Voice of America that the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, led by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, has sentenced Behraad Azargan, a Baha’i citizen, to 11 years in prison and the confiscation of his assets.
According to a report received by VOA's Persian section on Saturday, October 26, Behraad Azargan, a Baha’i citizen and music instructor, had his final court session on October 6 in Branch 15 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Salavati. Last week, he received a combined sentence of 11 years in prison.
The court sentenced Mr. Azargan to five years for “propaganda against the regime through holding music classes for various age groups,” four years for “membership in groups aimed at disrupting national security,” and two years for “spreading false information.”
Additionally, the Revolutionary Court ordered the confiscation of all assets seized from him.
