Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed the possibility of direct negotiations with the United States on the nuclear issue during a press conference on Tuesday (Feb 25) alongside his Russian counterpart.
Araghchi stated, “There will be no direct talks with the United States on the nuclear issue as long as maximum pressure continues in this manner,” referring to President Donald Trump’s aggressive stance toward Tehran.
Earlier that day, Iran raised the alert level of its defense systems surrounding nuclear sites, amid concerns of potential attacks by Israel and the U.S., according to the Telegraph.
Sources from the Iranian government revealed that the country has been enhancing defenses around its key nuclear and missile sites.
