A terrorist went on a stabbing spree in a fashionable Tel Aviv neighborhood Tuesday evening, injuring four people before being shot dead, according to emergency services and Israel Police.

The assailant, identified as Moroccan national Abdelaziz Kaddi, a US green card holder, was killed at the scene. An ID found on his body confirmed his identity.

Although Kaddi had been flagged by security upon his arrival in Israel a few days earlier, he was allowed entry. The Shin Bet later confirmed it was investigating this decision.

This attack marked the second terror stabbing in Tel Aviv within three days.

According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, the victims of the attack, which took place in Nahalat Binyamin, included two men, aged 24 and 28, in moderate condition, and two others, aged 24 and 59, in good condition.

Kaddi entered Israel on January 18 on a tourist visa.

Interior Minister Moshe Arbel stated that immigration officials had identified Kaddi as a potential threat at Ben Gurion Airport and tried to prevent his entry. He was handed over to security for questioning.

“To my regret, they decided to allow his entry into Israel,” Arbel said in a statement, urging Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar to investigate the matter. The Shin Bet later confirmed they were looking into the incident.

“The subject underwent a security assessment, including interrogation and additional checks, which concluded there was no information to prevent his entry into Israel for security reasons,” the Shin Bet said in response to inquiries.

The attacker is believed to have stabbed three people before fleeing to an adjacent street, where he injured a fourth victim.
