Israel invested several years meticulously preparing for a high-stakes operation targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, a senior security official revealed to The Times of Israel. This extensive campaign included the unprecedented establishment of a clandestine drone base deep inside Iranian territory, as well as the covert infiltration of advanced precision weapons systems and elite commandos.
The success of the operation depended on seamless coordination between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Mossad intelligence agency, combining military precision with intelligence expertise.
According to the official, Mossad operatives managed to set up a secret drone launch site near Tehran, which remained dormant until the carefully timed overnight strikes. These drones targeted and destroyed surface-to-surface missile launchers poised to threaten Israel, significantly degrading Iran’s offensive missile capabilities.
Simultaneously, specially equipped vehicles smuggling sophisticated weapons systems were inserted into Iran. These systems played a critical role in neutralizing Iran’s integrated air defense networks, thereby granting Israeli fighter jets uncontested air superiority and freedom of maneuver within Iranian airspace.
Complementing these efforts, Mossad commandos executed precision missile deployments near key anti-aircraft installations in central Iran, further crippling Iran’s ability to mount effective aerial defenses and paving the way for Israeli air operations.
This multifaceted operation underscores Israel’s commitment to preventing Iran from advancing its nuclear and missile programs, highlighting the lengths to which it will go to safeguard regional security.
