Mission Karmayogi is a government initiative aimed at reforming the training and capacity building of civil servants in India. The mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2020, with the goal of transforming the bureaucracy into a more responsive, accountable, and efficient system.
The mission is based on the idea of "skill, will, and ethics," and aims to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement among civil servants. It seeks to create a system where civil servants are equipped with the right skills, motivation, and ethical values to perform their duties effectively.

Under the Mission Karmayogi initiative, civil servants will undergo a 360-degree assessment, which will help identify their strengths and weaknesses. Based on the assessment, they will be provided with customized training programs and capacity building courses, which will help them enhance their skills and knowledge.
The mission also aims to develop a competency framework for civil servants, which will serve as a guideline for recruitment, training, and career development. The framework will identify the core competencies required for different roles in the bureaucracy, and help align training and capacity building programs accordingly.
Mission Karmayogi is a significant step towards reforming the civil service in India. The initiative is aimed at creating a more professional and competent bureaucracy, which is crucial for the effective implementation of government policies and programs. By equipping civil servants with the right skills, motivation, and ethical values, the mission seeks to transform the bureaucracy into a more responsive and accountable system, which is better equipped to address the challenges of the 21st century.
