Modi intensifies criticism of Congress on issues of terrorism and corruption

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of showing sympathy towards terrorism and endorsing corruption. He asserted that the BJP's ascent to power in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections shattered the network of intermediaries who misappropriated public funds. Addressing election rallies in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, scheduled for November 17 and 25, respectively, Modi pledged to eliminate "goonda raj," emphasizing that supporting the BJP would reinforce him and prevent the Congress from returning to power.

While speaking in Udaipur, Rajasthan, where Kanhaiyyalal Sahu was fatally attacked by two Muslim men in June 2022, Modi labeled the incident a "terror incident" and criticized the Congress-led government in the state. He attributed the crime to the Congress government's alleged sympathy towards terrorism, claiming that their appeasement policy had jeopardized the state's culture, heritage, and honor. The Prime Minister also accused the Rajasthan government of failing in maintaining law and order and addressing crimes against women. Modi assured the people that the BJP would eradicate 'goonda raj' and crime from Rajasthan, particularly emphasizing the safety and dignity of women, stating, "Every woman in Rajasthan can live with dignity and without fear—I guarantee this."
