A well-known Pakistani YouTuber has issued a public apology from Makkah for his unintended actions involving the launch of a perfume called "295," which sparked a religious controversy and led to accusations of blasphemy.
For those unfamiliar, the term "295" refers to Section 295 of Pakistan's blasphemy law.
It is also connected to Section 295-A of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) in Pakistan, which addresses the insult of religious beliefs.
Rajab Butt is now facing serious legal issues after releasing the "295" perfume, which ignited religious debates. This prompted TLP (Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan) leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani to file an FIR against him, accusing him of disrespecting religious values and spreading hate speech.
Following the strong backlash, Rajab posted a video on his social media account from Makkah, where he sincerely apologized for his actions.
In the video, he began by reciting Darood e Sharif and expressed that his life, wealth, parents, and every drop of his blood are devoted to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Rajab apologized for unknowingly hurting people's sentiments and swore, while at the sacred destination, that he had no malicious intentions.
It is important to note that the perfume’s name was inspired by the popular song "295" by the late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala.
