PM Modi announced 23rd August as National Space Day

On 23rd August, the much awaited Chandrayaan-3 landed on the south pole of the moon and after the soft landing of the Chandrayaan-3 the whole nation including our PM Modi also celebrated the joy and success of ISRO. On 26th August Modiji while addressing the ISRO scientists at Bangalore and there he announced that 23rd August will be celebrated as National Space Day. Moreover, he also added that where the Chandrayaan-3’s lander Vikram touched down will be known as ‘Shiv Shakti Point’.
Prime Minister Modi delivered a significant declaration during his visit to the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangalore. His visit took place on August 26th, aimed at congratulating the scientists responsible for the momentous Chandrayaan-3 mission. PM Modiji added that the term ‘Shakti’ within the title 'Shiv Shakti' originates from the dedicated efforts, motivation, and empowerment of female scientists.

Furthermore, the location on the Moon where the Chandrayaan-2 probe made an unsuccessful landing in 2019 has been designated as the 'Tiranga Point'. The ISRO chief S Somanath and fellow scientists warmly welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival at ISTRAC. While addressing the scientific community at the space agency, the Prime Minister expressed that their accomplishments stand as a remarkable achievement of this time.
He noted that the global recognition of India's capabilities in science and technology has been amplified following this remarkable feat. India's Chandrayaan-3 lander, Vikram, effectively made a gentle landing on the lunar surface last Wednesday. The lander is equipped with six scientific instruments, including the rover Pragyan, which is set to gather valuable data about our nearest celestial neighbour over a span of 14 days.
