PM Modi anticipates that India will soon establish itself as a dominant force in the global economy

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his government's goal of transforming India into a global economic powerhouse during an event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. He recounted the journey from planting the initial seeds of "Vibrant Gujarat" two decades ago to witnessing its substantial growth today.

Modi explained that the primary objective of organizing the Vibrant Gujarat Summit was to stimulate economic growth within the state, but since 2014, their aspiration has been to position India as a driving force for global economic growth. He confidently asserted that India is on the brink of emerging as a formidable global economic player, promising that within a few years, India will rank among the top three economies worldwide.

The Prime Minister also emphasized how the Vibrant Gujarat initiative, which started modestly, has evolved into a significant institution. He drew parallels with the stages of acceptance as outlined by Swami Vivekananda, pointing out that Vibrant Gujarat had experienced initial skepticism, subsequent opposition, and eventual widespread recognition, especially given its pioneering nature. Furthermore, he noted that Vibrant Gujarat achieved success during a time when the central government, under the previous UPA administration, had shown indifference towards the state's industrial progress.
