PM Modi delivered a powerful message on terrorism while Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif was present

During a virtual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed leaders from various nations, including Pakistan, China, and Russia. In his speech, PM Modi indirectly referred to Pakistan and emphasized the importance of consistent efforts in combating terrorism, urging the bloc to openly criticize countries that support cross-border terrorism as part of their state policy.


PM Modi highlighted the urgent need for decisive action against terrorism and terror financing, stating that it poses a significant threat to regional and global peace. He called for expanded mutual cooperation within the SCO to effectively address this menace, emphasizing that terrorism should be fought in all its forms and manifestations without any double standards.

As the summit's chair, PM Modi also discussed several global challenges. He acknowledged the widespread crises related to food, fuel, and fertilizers, which have been surrounded by controversies, tensions, and epidemics. He stressed the necessity of united efforts to tackle these challenges.


Regarding the situation in Afghanistan, PM Modi expressed that India shares similar concerns and expectations with most SCO countries. He affirmed that the SCO has become a crucial platform for promoting peace, prosperity, and development in Eurasia.


PM Modi highlighted India's deep cultural and people-to-people connections with Eurasia, spanning thousands of years. He regarded these ties as a testament to the shared heritage between India and the region. As India holds the chairmanship of the SCO, PM Modi expressed India's sustained efforts to elevate the multifaceted cooperation within the organization to new heights.
