After the unexpected and significant attack on Israel originating from the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a message on his official social media account expressing his sympathy and support for the innocent victims of the assault by Hamas terrorists. India's stance on this matter was further underscored by the gratitude expressed by Israel's Consul General, Kobbi Shoshani.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi explicitly labelled the incident as a terrorist attack. This clear recognition of the severity of the act implies that India views Hamas as a terrorist organization. The Prime Minister did not make any statements in favour of Palestine, possibly due to Israel's commencement of counter-attacks. This sends a strong message to those who support the narrative that Palestinians are persecuted by Israel while ignoring Hamas's terrorist activities.
This demonstrates that India will not endorse or support terrorist activities involving Palestinians, despite traditionally maintaining a balanced position on the Israel-Palestine issue. On the 7th of October (Saturday), Israel experienced one of its most severe attacks in recent history when numerous Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Hamas also launched over 5,000 rockets into Israel, resulting in significant casualties and widespread damage.

During this attack, Hamas terrorists captured Israeli women and paraded them while chanting the Islamic slogan 'Allah Hu Akbar.' Multiple Israeli citizens and defense personnel were taken hostage by Hamas terrorists and brought to the Gaza Strip. These incidents were widely circulated on social media through various videos.
According to reports from The Times of Israel, Palestinian terrorists from the Gaza Strip launched extensive rocket barrages at southern and central Israel, leading Israel to declare a 'state of war.' Some reports indicate that the terrorists have taken several Israelis hostage and caused civilian casualties through indiscriminate firing.
This surprise attack on Israelis occurred on a Jewish holiday and involved a ground assault by dozens of uniformed gunmen who infiltrated the border town of Sderot and engaged in clashes with Israel Defense Force troops. The exact number of terrorists who infiltrated the country remains unclear, but on-site reports from the Israeli town suggest that it could be as high as 40-50 individuals.
