Prime Minister Modi initiates development initiatives valued at 27,000 crore rupees in Chhattisgarh

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially unveiled and initiated several development initiatives totaling approximately ₹27,000 crore in Chhattisgarh, which included the inauguration of NMDC Steel Ltd's new steel plant in Nagarnar. Prior to the event, PM Modi paid his respects at the Danteshwari Temple in the Bastar region of the state.
PM Modi inaugurated the Nagarnar steel plant, a project that has been realized at a cost exceeding ₹23,800 crore. This greenfield steel plant is poised to produce high-quality steel, and PM Modi emphasized that the vision of a prosperous India hinges on the development of every nook and cranny of the nation. He remarked, "Today, we have dedicated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹27,000 crore to the nation."
The NMDC Steel Ltd's Steel Plant at Nagarnar is anticipated to create numerous job opportunities both within the plant and in related industries, contributing significantly to the socioeconomic growth of the Bastar region and positioning it prominently on the global steel industry map.

PM Modi also marked the commencement of a new railway line connecting Antagarh and Taroki, along with a railway line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara. He laid the foundation stone for the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and the redevelopment of Jagdalpur Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Additionally, the Prime Minister flagged off the Taroki-Raipur DEMU Train Service.
Officials have stated that these railway projects are expected to enhance connectivity in the tribal regions of Chhattisgarh, fostering local development and improving the economic prospects of the area.
Furthermore, PM Modi inaugurated a road improvement project for the 'Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand Border section' of National Highway-43, a move aimed at enhancing road connectivity and benefiting the local populace.
It's worth noting that Chhattisgarh is one of five states scheduled to hold elections by the end of the year, with the BJP seeking to replace the Congress government that came to power in 2018.
