Prime Minister Modi subtly criticized Rahul Gandhi for his 'Made in China' comment

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the Congress during the ongoing election season, employing his strongest language to date. His verbal assault targeted Rahul Gandhi, whom he dubbed 'moorkhon ke sardar' (the leader of foolish individuals), in response to Gandhi's assertion that a significant portion of mobile phones in India originated from China. Modi vehemently contradicted this claim, highlighting the remarkable transformation in India's mobile phone industry. According to the Prime Minister, India currently exports mobile phones amounting to over ₹1 lakh crore, a testament to the nation's burgeoning success in the field.

Accusing Congress leaders of suffering from a mental affliction that leads them to disregard India's accomplishments, Modi asserted that India now holds the prestigious position of being the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer. Drawing a stark comparison to the Congress era, he noted that when the opposition party was in power, India's mobile phone manufacturing stood at a modest ₹20,000 crore. In contrast, under the current administration, the industry has witnessed exponential growth, surpassing ₹3.5 lakh crore. Modi underscored the substantial progress made, emphasizing India's not only self-sufficiency but also its capability to contribute significantly to the global market, exporting mobile phones on an impressive scale.
