"Aren't you happy that I am not lying down?" , said Mr. Rahul Gandhi, a member of the opposition party of India, the Indian National Congress.
As a Tamilian, Mr. Gandhi's remarks to the Indian Diaspora in New York pierced my heart. He subtly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi (NaMo) for showing gratitude for the legendary Tamil culture. Tamil Nadu natives who sincerely regard their profession as their first God would show respect in the same manner that NaMo did. And I believe NaMo actually worshiped the great Sengol of Tamil Nadu by bowing to it. Understand why? Because I really believe that the worthy Prime Minister embraces the culture of Tamil Nadu, the culture of India. When looking at Namo from a third-person perspective, it is apparent that he maintains that "Profession is God" even if he has advanced in rank.
Mr. Gandhi, what about any of these amuses you so much that you wanted to giggle briefly as you stated the statement?
To date, no one has made an effort to elevate Tamil culture to this point (to place it in Parliament). They didn't even bring it up during election campaigns before. Modi Ji did it, though.
Does this strike you as funny?
The Nehruvian dynasty is exalted and boasted about far too much by Indian National Congress members and supporters. To clarify, however, the party in power failed in the Sri Lankan Tamil war and, in May 2009, dealt the Tamil Tigers a setback resulting in up to 100,000 Tamil civilian and Liberation Tigers deaths during the conflict.

Does this strike you and your fellow party members as humorous as well?
In addition, Mr. Gandhi makes another claim during his speech. He uttered "The central architect of modern India, Mahatma Gandhi was an NRI. The foundation for India’s freedom movement was laid in in South Africa… Nehru, BR Ambedkar, Sardhar Vallabhhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose all were NRIs and had an open mind about the outside world ". As Indian citizens, we are aware of how significant Indian history is. But what about the circumstances of today? You claimed that the majority of the architects in contemporary India are NRIs. But, believe it or not, the current Indian government is headed by a true Indian citizen, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is not an NRI. It is impossible to count all the positive things he has done for India. Giving examples is nothing I object to.
Consider:
Shah Bano's case victory (where it was ineffective under Rajiv Gandhi's rule)
Providing invaluable support to the Serum Institute of India during emergency COVID times in 2020 to release the vaccine COVISHIELD in order to protect n number of people's lives.
Introducing the “Make in India” plan.
Initiating “Swatch Bharat” scheme. (A Clean India campaign)
And so on…
We are all aware that it is common for the ruling and opposition parties to engage in debate. But speaking disparagingly against Tamil or Indian culture in a foreign nation?
What would you say about what you did?
It's pathetic to acknowledge that by claiming that your great-grandfather is an NRI, and NRIs are open-minded about the outside world while being ignorant of Tamil culture and other aspects of Indian culture. Or maybe, is it the other way around? Perhaps he educated you, and you failed to notice the positive traits in those who do good deeds and perform good customs.
The answer is in your hands now.
