Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), which translates to "Member of Parliament's Model Village Scheme," is an Indian government initiative launched in 2014. The program aims to develop model villages across India by leveraging the resources and capabilities of Members of Parliament (MPs).
The objective of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is to bring about holistic development in rural areas by focusing on social and cultural development, human development, and infrastructure development. Each Member of Parliament is encouraged to adopt and develop one village in their constituency as a model village, implementing various developmental initiatives and addressing the specific needs of the community.

Key features of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana include:
Planning and Development: MPs are expected to create a holistic village development plan, taking into consideration the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the community. The plan should address the basic needs of the village, such as education, health, sanitation, infrastructure, and livelihood opportunities.
Convergence of Resources: The program emphasizes the convergence of various government schemes and resources to maximize the impact of development activities. MPs are encouraged to collaborate with central and state government departments, NGOs, corporate entities, and community-based organizations to pool resources and implement projects effectively.
People's Participation: The active involvement and participation of the villagers are crucial to the success of the program. The villagers' opinions and aspirations are taken into account during the planning and implementation stages, ensuring their ownership and sustainability of the development initiatives.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are put in place to assess the progress of the development projects. MPs are required to submit periodic reports on the implementation of projects, expenditure, and outcomes achieved.

The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana aims to create a multiplier effect by replicating successful models and practices from the adopted villages to nearby areas, thereby fostering overall rural development. It focuses on empowering the rural population, improving their quality of life, and creating self-sustainable communities.
It's important to note that since my knowledge cutoff is in September 2021, there may have been updates or modifications to the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana beyond that date. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's recommended to refer to official government sources or recent news articles.
