A tense and dramatic scene unfolded on Sunday afternoon at Sotillo Beach in Castell de Ferro, located in the Granada province of Spain, when a speedboat carrying approximately a dozen migrants made a sudden and unexpected landing on the crowded shoreline. The incident took place around 2 p.m., in full view of stunned holidaymakers enjoying a sunny day by the sea.

According to footage widely shared on social media, the boat—crammed with young men—raced toward the beach before its passengers leapt into the shallow waters and began swimming toward the sand. As beachgoers looked on in shock, the men reached the shore and scattered, some sprinting along the coast while others attempted to blend into the crowd to evade capture.

Eyewitnesses reported that roughly 13 individuals, believed to be of Moroccan origin, disembarked from the vessel in a clear attempt to enter the country illegally. The sudden arrival created a scene of confusion and alarm, but several quick-thinking tourists took it upon themselves to intervene.

In a striking display of civilian action, a few beachgoers chased down the fleeing migrants, detaining several of them before authorities could arrive. One video captures a dramatic moment where a man wearing only swimming trunks tackles a migrant to the ground and restrains him until officers from the Guardia Civil arrived on the scene to take control of the situation.

Local authorities are now investigating the incident, which adds to the growing concerns surrounding irregular migration along Spain’s southern coastline. The beach, typically known for its peaceful setting and family-friendly atmosphere, was momentarily transformed into the backdrop of a real-life drama that left both locals and tourists shaken.
