The Biden Administration Threatened an Arms Embargo to Protect Hezbollah from Israel

The Biden administration, along with the media and political establishment, is portraying this as a ‘ceasefire’ agreement. However, it is essentially a hollow deal with Lebanon’s government, which operates under Hezbollah's control.

Hezbollah has openly declared its intention to continue attacking Israel, while simultaneously framing the agreement as a victory.

President Biden described the arrangement as a “proposal to end the devastating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah,” yet it fails to achieve that. Instead, it enables Hezbollah to regroup, rearm, and prepare for further aggression.

Why, then, did Israel agree to it?

According to Senator Ted Cruz, “Obama-Biden officials pressured our Israeli allies into accepting the ceasefire by withholding critical weapons needed for self-defense and to counter Hezbollah. They also threatened to push for a broader international arms embargo through the United Nations. These officials are now leveraging Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire to shield Hezbollah and other Iranian-linked terrorist organizations in Lebanon, curbing Israel’s ability to defend itself in the future.”

Speaker Mike Johnson echoed similar concerns, tweeting: “While the Biden-Harris Administration celebrates this deal, it continues to withhold vital weapons from Israel. This Administration created obstacles for Israel, prolonged the conflict, and repeatedly appeased Iran instead of standing firmly with our key ally in the region. Israel’s successes have come despite the White House’s actions, not because of them.”

In his remarks, President Biden signaled plans to pursue another “ceasefire” proposal, this time involving Hamas, with mediation from its allies Qatar and Turkey.

With the election now behind them, the administration appears to be ramping up efforts to weaken Israel while bolstering terrorist groups in the region.
