Nearly three decades after the initial introduction of the women's reservation Bill in Parliament, on September 20th, the Lok Sabha overwhelmingly approved a Constitutional amendment Bill, granting women one-third reservation in both the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. The Rajya Sabha will now consider the Bill for approval during the remaining two days of the Special Session of Parliament, and it may need the endorsement of at least half of the States.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India had made historic strides by successfully passing the women's reservation bill through Parliament. The government has christened the Women Reservation Bill as the "Nari Shakti Vandan-Abhinandan Karyakram." The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam received a resounding endorsement in the Lok Sabha, securing a significant majority vote of 454, and it was subsequently approved without opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

The name is so unique and it should be appreciated because we all know that in our country in India women are worshipped and thus this name is justified. Modiji never fails to make us proud by his decisions and so this is one of them. Yes there were certain obstacles but after all the obstacles Modiji finally made it possible for all the Indians. The Prime Minister enumerated a range of initiatives and programs initiated by his administration to empower women, such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, Nirbhaya Fund, Ujjawala Scheme, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Mudra Yojana, and more.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the primary advantage of this legislation would be to enhance the self-assurance of women across the country. Once enacted, this bill will grant women one-third (33%) representation in the lower house of parliament and state assemblies, including Delhi.
