The new Parliament building will serve as the foundation for a new India's formation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that the inauguration of India's new Parliament, constructed over the previous two years, is a significant moment in the country's history. He emphasized that this event draws upon India's rich civilization while also holding the promise of a prosperous and fair future. Modi compared the awakening of national consciousness in India to the transformative phase witnessed during the decisive last 25 years of the freedom struggle.

He portrayed the new Parliament building as a symbol of a revitalized "new India" and linked it to his government's achievements in welfare over the past nine years. However, 21 Opposition parties, led by the Congress, boycotted the ceremony in protest, considering it a "grave insult" to the President for not extending an invitation to her. President Droupadi Murmu's message, conveyed during the inauguration, expressed her satisfaction that the Prime Minister, who represents the trust of Parliament, was inaugurating the building.
