A 13-year-old boy carried out a shocking stabbing attack at Kingsbury High School in Brent, north-west London, on Tuesday, leaving two children critically injured and fighting for their lives in what authorities suspect may have been a terror-related incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the violent incident occurred in the middle of a classroom just before lunchtime. The teenager reportedly brandished a knife and stabbed a 13-year-old boy in the neck and back while shouting “Allahu Akbar.” Moments later, a second boy, aged 12, was attacked with a knife in front of terrified classmates who screamed as the attack unfolded.

Armed police quickly arrived at the scene, but the assailant had already fled the school premises. About an hour later, authorities arrested a suspect nearby, who has not been publicly named, on suspicion of attempted murder. Sources indicated that the suspect was not a student at Kingsbury High School, raising serious concerns about how he gained access to the building with a concealed weapon.

Both victims were rushed to hospital, where they remained in life-threatening condition on Tuesday. Scotland Yard confirmed that counter-terrorism officers are leading the investigation, as there are indications the attack may have been ideologically motivated. However, police have not yet officially classified the incident as a terrorist act, as searches and inquiries related to the suspect were still ongoing late into Tuesday night.

Many students who witnessed the horrifying events were held in the school hall for several hours while officers conducted investigations. Parents arriving to collect their children described scenes of panic and distress. One father said, “He [the attacker] came into the school and my son saw him stab a child in the neck….”

Local resident Maeve O’Callaghan-Harrington recalled hearing children sobbing as they left the school with their parents. She said, “I walked outside and heard one boy saying, ‘Mummy, Mummy, it was in his neck.’”

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams emphasized that investigators are “keeping an open mind as to any motivation behind the attack,” highlighting the ongoing nature of the probe and the complexity of the incident.
