A retired author was left feeling outraged after being asked to move by “a group of Muslim men” inside a hospital chapel.

Graham Wanstall, who was at Kent and Canterbury Hospital as a patient, went to the chapel for a moment of reflection and prayer.

Shortly after he arrived, a group of men entered and abruptly told him to move.

Wanstall, from Dover, said he felt “belittled and humiliated” by the men, whom he identified as hospital doctors.

He told GB News, “They said they were holding a prayer meeting and that I was in the way. They asked me to move.

“As a very English and reasonable person, I offered to shift a couple of rows so they could sit together. But even after I moved, they were still unhappy and wanted me to move again.”

When he asked where they wanted him to sit, Wanstall said, “They picked up a chair and placed it in the corner of the chapel.

“In other words, I was being treated like a naughty schoolboy, forced to sit facing away from the altar, which felt very disrespectful.”

In protest, Wanstall told GB News he decided to leave the chapel.

He added, “I felt belittled and humiliated by them. Being alone with no witnesses, I had to make a choice.”
