A 25-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged assault on an Iranian anti-regime protester in London. The incident reportedly involved the victim being struck with a bottle before being stabbed.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to the scene on Ballards Lane in North Finchley at around 7pm on Monday evening after receiving reports of an attack.

Upon arrival, police discovered a man in his 40s who appeared to have sustained stab wounds. While there has been widespread speculation that the victim was an Iranian protester opposed to the IRGC, authorities have not officially confirmed his identity.

The incident occurred just days after Ballards Lane saw large gatherings of Iranians celebrating reports surrounding the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

North Finchley, which is home to London’s largest Iranian community, is often informally referred to as “Little Tehran.”

Police have taken a 25-year-old suspect into custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Investigators believe he struck the victim with a bottle, but they are still searching for additional suspects, including the individual believed to have carried out the stabbing.
