Spanish law enforcement authorities arrested three Moroccan illegal migrants on Sunday night after they allegedly attacked Spanish military personnel by throwing bottles filled with a corrosive liquid in the San Amaro neighborhood of Ceuta.

The incident marks the third reported attack in recent days targeting Spanish military officials following the large-scale illegal migrant influx into the Spanish enclave last month. According to Spanish media outlets, including El Faro de Ceuta, the assault took place on Sunday afternoon and appeared to have been deliberately planned.

Fortunately, none of the military personnel sustained injuries during the attack. Officers from the Spanish Civil Guard responded immediately, launching a rapid search operation that resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.

Police sources cited by El Mundo stated that the soldiers were unarmed and were not equipped with protective gear at the time of the incident. Investigators believe the attackers had prepared the assault in advance.

The latest attack follows similar incidents reported over the weekend during peaceful demonstrations organized by Ceuta residents protesting the unresolved migrant crisis. On Friday night, protesters were also targeted with bottles containing a similar corrosive substance. Witnesses told local media that at least four individuals participated in that incident, although one suspect managed to escape.
